Disc brakes

Post by Propshaft »

I have the converter plates for the rear wheels with the p c d for marina wheels I also have newish front hubs for the disc brakes just to be clear in my own mind the hubs on the front have the p c d for the standard minor wheels is at as simple as cutting down the existing studs just below the level of the hub filling with weld and then re drilling for the marina or m g f wheels

drilling the new pcd is difficult to get right,
unless you have an engineering workshop, or are very lucky,

mate of mine did it once, he had a car that went up and down as the wheel turned,
had to get a firm to do it again on a new axle,

If you have standard Minor front hubs then it is near impossible to alter the pcd from 4" (Minor) to 3.75" (Marina) as there is not enough metal to do the job properly.
Better to find a S/H set of Marina front hubs and fit them using the top hat spacer kit.

I have the ESM hubs for the disc brake conversion but the hubs are for m minor wheels as a separate issue I also have the hubs for the top hat conversion but can’t source any bearings so I am reverting to re drilling the ESM hubs to suit the marina wheels

I am very surprised that you cannot find the correct Mr Grumpy' disc brake conversion bearings to allow for the fitting of standard Marina front hubs to Minor front stub axles.

The inner bearing is Timkin L44649 which is the same as a classic Mini rear hub bearing
The outer bearing is SKF 30203J2.

Both bearings are readily available on 'e' bay.
