I feel really stupid!

Hi all,
I've recently bought myself a Morris Traveller which needs a little bit of work to get it useable on a daily basis. This afternoon, I went out for a short spin and totally misjudged a ploughing arm sticking out of the back of a tractor while it was turning As a result, I now have no windscreen and a hole about a foot wide in the roof of the car above the front passenger seat Any ideas about repairing this area? Unfortunately, it's also slightly buckled the top of the post between windscreen and door - there seems to be a weld low down on the inside but not on the outside, is there a repair panel available? Or is it a case of putting new metal into the old roof and straightening bits?
Any wise words would be greatly appreciated - I'm away next week but then have about a week free to try and sort it out!!!!

p.s. I've only ever had one small bump in 15 years' driving before now - it had to happen when I get a car that I really like!

flipping heck sounds major - i dont think the roofs available as a repair section .. i may be wrong.

if you want to come and cut a bit out of my two door saloon im going to scrap you are welcome to it, im near aberystwyth.

I think I would still be counting my lucky starts that the jib hit the passenger's side and no-one was in it!

It's hard to see how the roof panel could be repaired to it's original profile
- surely it has been buckled by the impact? There are no roof pressings available new, so using the roof section from a scrapper is the only answer I guess. A traveller would be best but I'm sure the roof of a two-door could be used. It might be best to re-use the window pillar as well because untwisting the buckled one may be very difficult. Luckily there are a great many scrap moggies around.....

Thanks for the replies - grainger, you should have had a private message. Chris, once I got past my fingers and toes I stopped on the lucky stars! To give you a more accurate Idea, I was only doing about 20mph at the time and as the tractor turned off the road he started up a slope. So the tail end of the jib came down (into the roof). I'm not sure still if it was that or the brakes that stopped the car!!! Anyway, the roof is slightly bent down around that area, but not too much, and the corner with the window pillar has been bent slightly at the very top.

I've been lucky that a neighbour has a windscreen in his shed. Sorry, HAD a windscreen in his shed. Also, Grainger's offer. Beer money going in both directions! For the time being, my local garage is straightening things and putting a very visible patch over the hole - a very visible reminder to me of my stupidity and how lucky I was!

I'll be trying to avoid tractors from now on (though out here in West Wales that might prove quite a challenge!)
