HAS ANYONE MOVED THE LOCATION OF THE DIMMER SWITCH.

Presumably you mean the floor mounted dip switch? It's been moved to all sorts of places and changed to all sorts of switches. What is it that you want to achieve?

My first thought was that it was about the Speedo illumination on/off switch; but yes, you're most probably right and it's the Dip Switch that is the subject.

I don't have a problem with the floor switch but I can imagine it is a very alien concept to drivers of modern cars. I have (many years ago) tried to change gear with the floor dip switch rather than the clutch!!! This is because the clutch and the dip switch are right next to each other and if say, climbing a hill and needing to change down a gear coincides with needing to dip the headlights I can get confused.

Also, the dip switch is awkward of you happen to have big feet.

I guess it's what you're used to, or have past experience with.
I'm a size 11 shoe, as Basil is a SII with the early narrow pedal spacing, I have to remember to wear a less 'chunky' pair of shoes to drive him. Otherwise I can easily catch the Accelerator when pressing the brake...
I've driven many vehicles in the past with the floor Dip Switch; in my early RAF career (from mid 1970s) the 'Landys', Bedford vans and truck etc, were often so equipped still.
However, my first car was a 1969 Mk 1 Escort, which had a floor Foot Pump for the screen wash in the same place....
Imagine needing to decide between clearing the windscreen or using the clutch.....

Back in 1993 I bought an approved used Jaguar XJ40 and that had a foot operated dip switch like the Morris. I'd never seen one before and I couldn't work out what was happening to start with. I went back to the Dealer and it turned out someone had gone to the trouble of adding it and the Dealer was very impressed by how good a job they had done. As a result, when we got the Minor, it was just second nature to me.

Yes I do the same thing. I have to remember not to wear hiking boots or I cannot safely drive the Morris.

One day I was driving the wife's 1961 saloon when I heard a "PING" as something flew past my left ear. The rivet holding the metal cup on the dip switch had worn through and it ejected itself.

Yes I’ve moved the headlight dip switch (I found it rather difficult to squeeze my size 12s into the space to operate in the original floor mounted location) - so I removed the switch from the mounting and simply fixed it under the dash on the right….

I find personally this location convenient (push a little red paint on the cap)

That must need quite a hefty Push, a foot switch being hand operated.??
