Re: Door safety catch
That looks like the narrower 4door striker.

To close off this query, can other members (with a micrometer!) report whether their car (MM, 2 or 1000, 2 or 4 door) features this 40mm spacing, or 1.5".
2mm doesn't sound much, but it means they are not interchangeable!
Well the mystery continues, when I remove my striker and measured accurately , rather than in situ, as Mike says the hole centres are as he measured 38.5. So either it's for another car or just incorrectly made. As another posted looks like its supposed be for 2 door the 2 door type as wider and different profile. Amazing making them different.

Re: Door safety catch
So the one Mike sent doesn't fit on 4 door. I think we have concluded incorrectly made part with wrong hole centres. With my 4 door front removed and measured properly its 38.5 same as two door. But the profile and width is different 2 or 4 door
Any theories?
Anyone succesfully fitted 2 door version to 4 door?
As someone suggested extra width for heavier door of 2 door. But why the different slope profile?Any theories?
