Tudor WIndscreen washer installation

So; having salvaged the Tudor screen washer kit from Donor 2, I had a look at the cowl last evening to determine the location for the nozzles. Turns out that, possibly due to the wiper cable routing, neither nozzle was located the same way. One was markedly closer to the screen and the other closer to the bonnet. I was not entirely surprised as I don't believe these were factory installed. I will probably install the kit since I have it, it's complete, and the manual pump still works. I will try to locate the nozzles more precisely, though!!

I can't speak for exports, as it would depend on local legislation, but UK Home Market Delux models had them factory fitted from 1961.
They only finally became a legal requirement in the UK in 1986, but had already been fitted since the late 1960s in most cases, probably due to laws elsewhere.
Tudor equipment is definitely after market, that's what Tudor were known for; my car has a Tudor Round Heater.

I think you have come up with a sensible approach: using a usable part to serve its original purpose, while improving the quality of the installation by positioning the injectors more precisely than the previous design. This shows a practical, economical approach that focuses on quality and aesthetics in the restoration process.

This is most odd. The reply above looks like AI to me. It's rather good but not perfect. Why would AI want to comment on this forum?

Back to your query. Seeing as you will have to take out the gloveboxes to fit the nozzles, you will be able to check the routing of the wiper rack. I suspect any adjustment required will be minimal.

My car 1969 Deluxe had factory fitted jets. The originals use a smaller hole than the ones that are available from ESM and they are single jet. They are the same as the ones used on the Mini and you can buy them here: https://www.minispares.com/gww807-winds ... inal-shape

The only thing about the jets from Minispares is they don't come with a gasket. My originals had a long ago hardened rubber gasket. I used it as a template to make new ones from Viton rubber sheet.

If it is a bot account, then it's improved alot from the other "helendam" bot accounts out there that started posting back in 2024 on various forums.

I find it rather disturbing that an AI posts on a niche forum for a particular type of old car. Very odd. What is the purpose of it? Is it a test to see if we notice?

I am also alarmed that it is quite difficult to detect that it is not a real person. It will not be long until it is near impossible to tell what is written by a human and what is written by an AI. What will we do then? Go back to insisting on talking to human beings only in person?.........

None of the cars had electric washer pumps originally. Mine had a Wingard one as an aftermarket addition. The rear view mirror is also Wingard incidentally.

How will we know they're really human! :lol:

Thing is based on what's been said in the past, it's the human operators of the bots doing the registrations, then letting the AI take over so I guess site captchas and questions will only go so far.

You could do as other forums do and limit the new members to only post in a welcome thread, until they hit a certain amount of posts and delete any that appear to be AI or give further restrictions if you're not sure but of course that's then more work for the moderators.

You could also try asking them in the thread questions to confuse the AI, "Should I replace my fuel injectors on my B-Series engine?" springs to mind as a potential for interesting AI answers :D

I wasn't thinking electric, I was thinking manual - just because I know my Mothers car has a Wingard long,black push button kind and mine has a Tudor dumpy metal pump push button - but all the other components are the same (washer bottle etc) between them.

There were 2 factory fit versions of the Washer system, the first from car 934674 to 1039563, with the 2nd version from 1039564 to end of production.
So that is around Oct 61 to Oct 63 for Type 1, and then Type 2 subsequent...
I image only one supplier was used for each...
