National Rally Online booking
I could not find the location of the National Rally Booking Form on the MMOC website.
Looking under Events, National Rally. If I click on VIEW, my browser tells me the page's address is not valid.
Obviously it would save some work in the MMOC office if as many bookings are made online instead of posting the completed form and a cheque.
I guess the price difference between the Registered (£17) and Pre-Registerd=Pay on Entry(£20) makes it easier to take the money at the gate and allows for a change of mind if the weather is inclement.
The Fire Service College looks like a well equipped site, hopefully we will see a good attendance.
I intend to take my van and camp.
Next big event for us is the Minors On Tour 2025, I think this will be our 35th MOT.

I get the same error. See you on MoT in France (if my car has an engine by then!!)
The Fire Service College is very pleasant. I have stayed there on work related courses.

Re: National Rally Online booking
Any idea when online booking will be available? I've just checked and it's still not working. Maybe the information in the club mag should have said that online booking would be available from a certain date? That would have avoided all of the current confusion and questions.

Good news: The online booking form is now available. Click <MMOC Home> in the breadcrumbs below the banner, then select <Events>. Note: You must be logged in to the www site to access the form. Apologies for the delay that was caused by a contractor and not anybody within the MMOC.

Yes. From the MMOC home page, EVENTS drop down, then select What's On, then select View on the National Rally dates. That brings up the form.

Re: National Rally Online booking
Sadly, I cannot attend this years rally because the rules state I should have registered by the 20th. Why are we holding a rally where the security concerns require us to pre-book weeks in advance? I cannot be the only member, through work commitments/family commitments etc. cannot plan months ahead, We could always rock up on the day and pay the fine. But not this time. If next year, the committee decide to hold the rally at HMP Whitemoor or GCHQ Cheltenham, can they let us know so I can try to get my security clearance up to date?

Yes I wondered why it’s being held somewhere one needs to jump through hoops, I don’t think it’s ever happened before and there have been some lovely places in the past. Lots of people like to roll up on the day, if the opportunity is there. Next thing will be a search for drugs and weapons !
. However I appreciate the work involved in the organisation of these events.

Re: National Rally Online booking
In the current climate and in light of recent occurances at public events, I welcome additional checks.
Its not unusual to have to pre-book events, NEC,Gaydon etc so whats the difference with MMOC rally. If it helps the organisers (volunteers after all) to know numbers attending.
There was also the choice to pre-book and pay on the day if you could attend and if circumstances prevented attendance you have lost nothing.

Re: National Rally Online booking
I think it's actually a wise move since "Martyn's Law" recently came into effect following the Manchester Arena Bombing.
I haven't looked into it in detail, and as always the 'devil is in the detail', but I know it does include 'premises' that have no building, i.e outdoor events...

Well I’m coming from the fact that it didn’t used to be this way, safety fair enough and again regarding the rally site, why choose a place that in its very nature is security minded.

Re: National Rally Online booking
As Berni posted with new regulations coming into force this will become the norm. It will be at most venues, even those used previously. In fairness I imagine when it was booked nobody was expecting the Brize Norton incident which may have increased security. If it doesn't effect the event other than showing your ID I don't understand why its an issue.

There are some very ominous looking buildings, I think we should have a head count before we leave.
