Rotisserie - Welding Supports Where?

Post by Stewart291TMM »

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently preparing my 1958 Tourer for mounting on a Type one, Ade Foreman Light Enginering Rotisserie
(https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133119585770 ... Sw38VbrAPL) and wanted to ask if anyone has a difinitive guide or experience on where supports should be welded to prevent twisting and movement once the car is on the jig.
I've checked the front and rear bumber support bolts and they look in good condition for mounting so I intend using these as the only mounting points unless further advice suggests otherwise.

Also, once the car is ready to be resprayed, do I need to remove the supports and therefore take the car off the rotisserie or do I just remove the supports and keep the car in it's normal position? I saw a demonstration M.M. at the classic car show resprayed and turned on a rotisserie and wondered if it would then twist out of alignment?

I would appreciate any advice you can give as this represents a lot of firsts for me and I don't want to mess it up!

First restoration, first time welding, first time using a rotisserie, you get the picture I'm sure!

Many thanks in advance, this has always been the best source of accurate, correct and informative help regarding anything related to my resto project.
