Realized very early on that, between my love for orphan cars and ingrained miserliness, that I would have to learn to fix them myself. Started out with a pair of Datsun 510's and a Haynes manual and my first set of Craftsman sockets and wrenches.... too many years and cars later, I taught myself the use of a wire welder, since the orphan cars I was working on at this stage often had gaping holes in them..... fast forward a couple more years, and the expense of paint in spray cans (and the accompanying lack of decent results) led me to an HVLP gun and I've -kind- of mastered that... shot two cars, one a Ford Galaxie Sportsroof, in Wimbledon white, and a Renault 11 in dark grey.
I've learned to service SU fuel pumps; rebuild all sorts of carbs, repair dynamos, starters, and alternators...
And now, I'm taking a self-taught course in Morris Minor restoration, guided by you fine folks.
A fine trade even at my advanced age.

How did you sort out your seal issue ?

There is plenty of learning yo be done.We don't get much of a choice but it is a means to an end and very interesting and painful on times.

Haven't chased anything down yet, think I might use some soft rubber vacuum line split down the middle and fit over the edge of the lens.
