first resto

Post by andrewsxt »

Hello all

i`ve been tinkering with cars all my life but this is my first restoration {slightly daunting :-? } so i hope some of you don`t mind casting your well trained eyes over a couple of pics and giving me your thoughts. ie is that piece of metal under the side rail part of the floor pan?
If a new inner wing is welded in does it go over the top of the old one?
Is the rear corner of the roof really meant to be secured with a really big wood screw :o !!!!!

any help greatly appreciated

Andy

ps: if theres anyone in poole who fancies restoring a moggie and getting paid with copius amounts of tea & hob nobs then my garage door is always open

pps: sorry about the wide post

I can't see the pics, and when I cut and paste the URL into a browser, I get taken to a log in screen :( for MSN. Could be just me - but if you need an alternative host, mail me the pics at bigginger at bigginger dot com and I'll do it.
Sounds to me like you're fairly lucky with the inner wing - I've just done one which was fabricated and installed by putting a flat sheet of metal over the old one and hitting it with a hammer until it fitted. Ish..
