The car is in Taunton 7 miles from junction 26 of the M5 or 5 miles from junction 25 of the M5. My son has owned this car since 2011 and it has had 7 previous owners. It needs to be sold because my son has had a change in personal circumstances. Whilst in his ownership it has always been garaged. He had the original 803cc engine upgraded to a 1098cc engine and the brakes are servo-assisted for safety. In 2022 he had major welding work done on the underside of the car including panels being replaced costing £2,040 inc VAT. The car has been fitted with a kill switch and the contact breaker points on the distributor have been replaced with an electrical system. The front passenger seats have been fitted with seat belts. The car was last started on 16th June 2024 and it started first time. All the accompanying photos were taken on that day.
As one might expect for a car that is 70 years old it has a few squeaks and rattles. The brakes are squeaky and the chrome centrepiece of the dashboard rattles. The rubber boot lining has come off and the bonnet release tab has broken although it can still be pushed aside with a finger. The trafficators are not working. One of the hinges to the glove compartment is broken and the parcel shelf under the dashboard has seen better days. The paint work is bubbling in places and there is a bit of rust on the chrome around the headlights and on the wing mirrors. The car sits a bit lopsided – down on the driver’s side. My son last serviced the car in 2023. The last MOT expired 1 July 2022. All the paperwork in his period of ownership is available.
