Timing chain kit

Post by morris63 »

Just brought a new Timing chain kit. It comes with a felt washer and a cupped shape metal washer. Where do these go, I don't remember taking them off.

The cupped washer is the new style starter dog locking washer.
The felt seal is for the old style timing cover which had a felt seal.

Thanks, but can't see how it works as a looking washer? Think I will stick with the old.

One part of the locking washer is knocked into one of the two half moon recesses in the front of the pulley and the other part is knocked up against the side of the starter dog hexagon.
