Hello all, help would be most appreciated on the following problem,
The steering rack on my 1955 Saloon is showing signs of wear, the rack feels rough in 2 places when you pull it through manually off the car. I suspect the pinion as the teeth of the rack looks fine, so without totally dismantling the steering rack and investigating the pinion I am contemplating fitting a new one as these are readily available for later models and other vehicles like MG's. I understand though that the Tie rods have a different thread so new track rod ends would be required, however, I cant find out if these track rod ends will fit in the existing steering arm. Anybody know? Thanks.

Re: Steering Rack
The track rod ends whether early or late will fit the steering arms.
If you order new track rod ends ensure that the female thread of the track rod end and the lock nut are compatible with the new rack tie rods.
