Re: Help with lights
It all depends on how your Indicators have been added to the car, bearing in mind that the car originally had Trafficators.Maria1959morris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 11:58 pm Took.tje flasher relay.off.cleaned.it notice.only has 2 wires on been looking at.others online most cars.have 3 is that.correct. wonder why I only have 2
Trafficators don't flash (although flashing LEDs are now available), they simple come out as a lit arm or semaphore.
A 2 pin flasher simply interrupts the supply to the Indicators, so a warning or tell tale lamp for them has to be after the Flasher, bringing with it the problem of how to connect it to work for both L and R selection.

The 3 pin Flasher has a separate output connection to a warning lamp, so it will flash the warning lamp irrespective of L or R being selected.
So you need to look at how your warning lamp is connected up. I don't know if your 1959 car originally had a steady or flashing warning lamp.
Perhaps someone here with a Series 3 car can help with that?

Re: Help with lights
Sorry, but what's that got to do with having a 2 terminal Flasher Unit, which is the point I was explaining....Maria1959morris wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2024 12:15 pm Thanks I have 3 working indicators all.side.lights brake light etc.just 1 indicator

Re: Help with lights
Sorry for.the late.replies so Just to kinda try sort out this wiring light problem so all indicators work apart.from.the left hand side so I have ran a wire from the back indicator to the front left which wasn't working and now it's working but problem being all.indicators work all.side.lights work but when pull the pull button for the headlamps headlamps come on but indicators stop working when push button in to just.side lights the indicators work all though left clicking slower than the right I.. confused thought I had it sorted where all side lighys indicators are working when pull button out further for headlights the indicators stop also the headlamps were indicating and the flasher relay bit hot is it supposed to be at the end of my tether with this lights
