Wiper refills using modern rubber profile
So I needed to replace both wiper rubbers on my late saloon and also a couple of wiper rubbers on an old boat, they would accept the Morris rubbers as well if only they were available separately. I had a pack of cheap universal wiper refills for modern vehicles, you can see the difference between them and the Morris ones in the photo. In particular the 'foot' of the Christmas tree is 6mm, which is way too big. I decided to have a go at reducing the size of the foot using a sharp little pair of curved nail scissors. To my amazement it wasn't too difficult and if you go steady and keep an eye on the width you are cutting off and try and keep that constant rather than look at the other side it goes quite well. So I have ended up doing both car and boat for pennies and they work just fine. As I had long lengths I got 2 rubbers out of one length.

Well engineered.
It only takes a steady hand.
I've often pondered about how I could do something similar for the Flat Screen Wipers; I've even looked at other Classic suppliers for alternative vehicle options, such as the Ford Anglia, but they have the same 'flat screen' wipers...
I'll keep looking......
