Superpro poly bush grease.

I have been fabricating new rear lower tele damper mounts to fit new Spax gas dampers which means a lot of mounting and de-mounting of the damper on the mount/pin. To cut down on the amount of Superpro grease being used I used my normal poly bush red grease. In the past I have used red grease with poly bushes without any problems. This time with Superpro poly damper bushes the red grease seemed to turn to glue. It made fitting the damper mount pin near impossible and in the end I had to give up. As the inside of damper mount bush had become damaged trying to fit the mount pin it was decided to replace it with a new bush. The Superpro bush seemed to be stuck in the damper eye so I had to cut the bush from the damper eye to remove it and fit a new bush (Note:- Superpro bushes are not cheap). Using the correct Superpro grease the mount pin fitted a lot easier. So the moral of this story is not to use red grease with Superpro bushes.

Thank you for this warning. I am about to do the whole rear suspension and I have ordered Superpro bushes. I have a big tub of silicone grease and will use that if there isn't enough supplied grease. Often (non Superpro) bushes are supplied without grease and most people do use red rubber grease!
