The facility/Icon for editing posts has disappeared. Yet it appears on this thread.
What is happening????

Re: Amending posts
The ability to edit a post is only available for a short time after you post. I have a post I made 3rd July and I can't edit that any more. Could that explain what you are observing?

Re: Amending posts
I think the criteria for editing is a variable:
If there's no response yet, its still editable, no matter how long it's been, and any edits you make are not recorded as edited 'x' times
If there's a response there, then the edit function is only there a short time (like 30 minutes) and it will show that the post has been edited.

Re: Amending posts
The problem I am finding is that immediately after posting and wanting to a add a further comment/find and post a link or photo the post is locked and I am unable to do anything other than create a new post.
I have never come across this problem before.

Re: Amending posts
I confirm that there has been no change to software or settings, so the behaviour should not have altered.

Re: Amending posts
Thank you for the reply.
I will see if I can amend this post after a decent period.
This is the thread that was the problem.
viewtopic.php?t=76523
You will see that there were only a few minutes between my posts which were done as I could not amend or add to my previous post(s).
It seems to be working alright now but I note the time of the post is an hour out.
Is the web site in a different time zone.
Phil

Check your User Control Panel, the tab for Board Preferences. It doesn't automatically adjust for Summer Time, so at the moment, to show the correct local time, you should in the UK have it set to UTC+01:00 i.e Europe/London.
