Took my ‘Woody” to its first proper show at Tatton Park today.
Drove faultlessly 50 miles there and 50 miles home. Even queueing in the hot sun was no problem. Had lots of compliments and several chats, a very relaxed day indeed.
Next two days may be different in my other toys…
What a pleasant day

Re: What a pleasant day
Sounds good to me. For various reasons, I've not been to a car event since 2017. My Traveller has been mothballed for quite a few years, waiting my having time to fix one or two things, like Ware's shoddy five speed conversion
. Anyway, it's making progress.
I have a some MGs besides and whereas they now seem to attract attention, the Morris did from day one
. The vendor told me it would but I put this down to sales pitch and frankly, I wasn't interested. On the way home, an Australian Tourist was filming it at the services (Asked me what it was worth and I said I hoped what I had just paid for it. When he was told how much, he made said "S***, that twenty thousand bucks"; it;s hard to forget that). A short while later, I took my mother to Cardiff and I got "Blaketoned" (What I call it when someone talks to me about the car) twice in minutes, when I went to pick her up outside one of the shops. It was then that I knew that what the vendor had told me wasn't guff. Last year, on my first trip out in it, in years, I got "Blaketoned" outside the chip shop, not a mile from home. I only went a couple of miles out of town (To eat the chips) and it was during this trip that the answer, to a question my late father put to me, came to me. He had asked me which of the cars was my favourite and I honestly didn't know. The answer is whatever I am driving when you ask me.
I don't know for how long people have been going on to the owners of Travellers but the MGs seem only to have caught up in the last five - ten years.
