Lazy wipers on splitcreen

Can any one help before I pull the rest of my hair out. My 1954 Splitscreen left hand wiper has decided to only sweep half of the normal small area and point blank refuses to park back down at the bottom of the window. I have tried a new wiper arm and tighten the little split nut up as tight as I dare before it strips. Has anyone got any useful helpful suggestions please - other wise I'll have to restrict driving in the dry!!!

if the drivers wiper is still ok it must be a problem with the wiper box under in the dash .

If you remove the glove box inner you need to check that it is all connected and nice and tight as i expect the drive cable has become loose.

If you grab hold of the wiper has it a lot more play then the other one.

glad it is fixed.

Been there a few times with Emily... usualy at some obsceen speed late at night in the rain!
