Insurance and MOT

I started a thread like this on another forum a few years ago (not MM related). Discussion got a bit heated which wasn't the intention but some interesting info came out of the various replies. Given a couple of other threads on here I thought it might be worth a try, try not to shoot me down in flames please.

Without naming the insurer involved can any member give first hand accounts of insurance claims which have in any way (positively or negatively) been impacted by the presence or absence of a current valid MOT.

Examples might include:- sending a copy of your MOT certificate with a claim form, having an assessor inspect advisory issues from previous MOTs, claims being paid without an MOT and no assessor inspection, etc...

please try to stick to experiences and facts, not conjecture and speculation. (runs for the hills and hides.....)
