Hi does anyone know where to take my 5 speed possibly Sierra Bix for referb in South wales as some will not do older stuff please.

I would have thought any competent transmission shop should be able to re-build a type 9, 15 years ago they were their bread and butter, look for one that's been around for a while and check them out on google, most have some sort of customer reviews.

The Ford type 9 gearbox is so simple to overhaul you could do it yourself.
