I basically have the same issue as the chap in this post:
viewtopic.php?t=74196
So my old nylon housing was leaking. It isn't possible to remove the original seal from the housing. There's no retainer and the retainer doesn't appear to be available to buy. I've bought a complete new housing assembly and fitted it, but this also doesn't have the retainer and leaks just as much as the old one!!
The only thing I can think of is to:
1. Buy the older design brass oil seal housing, complete with retainer (£55 ish on ebay). Or;
2. Try fitting an o-ring to the inside side of the pinion shaft. Obviously this would need to be small enough to fit but not too tight around the shaft.
Any advice, please?!
