Bryan Gosling, Spares Manager

Post by MikeNash »

I see from the latest "Minor Matters" magazine that our club Spares Manager, Bryan Gosling, has been on the committee of the MMOC for 40 years and " . . is looking to step back from his role to concentrate on parts unique to the Series MM and Series II so is keen to recruit members to create a Spares Service team during 2022".

40 years! I'm amazed and so very grateful for the work that goes on behind the scenes that keep this site and club functioning especially as I seem to live in a Minor free zone and depend so much on both this site and the Club for help and advice. I've never met Bryan and only contacted him once for a part and immediately received sound advice and very soon the part I needed. That he's there for any more parts has always been a welcome assurance. May he live long and prosper!

Brian's a very nice guy.
I first met him when out and about in Basil, the year after we'd brought him.
I'd recently fitted Basil with B&W POLICE signs front & rear, to make him look like a 1950s Police car, sort of 'Heartbeat' in monochrome, and had been displaying him in the Classic Car area at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre annual airshow.
We'd stopped off for a break at a service area on the A17 and this cheerful chap came and introduced himself and asked about the car, was it really an original 50's Police one etc. I confessed Basil was just a little homage to those unknown and forever lost Moggies that had been.
I think he also wanted to increase the Club Membership, but I had to tell him I was already signed up

So we had a bit of a chat and went our different directions, but he's a great ambassador for the Club. :tu1:

I agree with the above, Bryan is a really nice chap and a pleasure to deal with. I have met him a couple of times and he is always extremely friendly.
I hope we don't loose him altogether but after 40 odd years I can understand him wanting to step back a bit.
A real asset to the club and a good person to know.
Best wishes,
Mike.

1952 Morris Minor MM highlight with sidevalve engine still fitted, wants work, so joins the queue for now......

Never had the pleasure of meeting him, but we have chatted on the phone. A thoroughly decent, knowledgeable and helpful man. A real credit to the club.
A bad day with my Volksie still beats a good day at work!
