He arrived this morning and is very lovely. He's a bit of a 'use and improve' example... but he's a second car so that's all good.

First thing on the agenda is an oil change as soon as my parents visit and reunite me with my axle stands.

Also a special thank you to MorrisJohn and busguy who both PM'd me with tips and pointers when I was looking! :tu1: :tu1:

Nice.hope you enjoy it.

Also good to see a car with the wing mirrors still on the wings.

They look nice but I can't really see much :o

Plus the driver's seat needs new padding or webbing or something so I'm a bit low down to even see the passenger side mirror. :-?

Hello and welcome. Nice car, doesn't look like it needs much, drive and enjoy. :tu1: :D
Regarding wing mirrors on the wings, I have found with my last two cars that they can indeed work okay (once you are used to their positions), so long as the mirrors themselves are convex, which gives you a greater field of vision.
'radioactiveman's' look to be new-ish (replacements for originals?), so hopefully he'll find them okay.
Best wishes,
Mike.

I am really jealous. I always wanted a two door saloon but I ended up with a Traveller.
1969 Traveller in Almond green. Owned since 1979.

Sell it then and buy a two door!

Excellent - so pleased to hear you found one! Looks good. :D I look forward to hearing how you get on with him.
A bad day with my Volksie still beats a good day at work!

Time to renew that gym subscription and start working on your arm strength :D
(I did some the other day, had to soak them in hot water in the end, and even then only just managed to scrape them into the holes).

Congratulations! I know that car! Needs a bit of (mainly cosmetic) work, as you say, but it's been well looked after by an owner who loves his classics.

Enjoy driving it!
