Dear All

Last week after a busy and exhaustive week I have a stroke, I am alive but will not be going to the workshop for the foreseeable future.

I trust you all understand.

I would say in light of what has happened, please discuss with family's and loved ones the signs of a stroke, my parents sat looking at me if I were making a joke. No joke, no hand movement, full face slump and nothing coming out of my mouth, nothing.....

I have to go on with new meds, more tests, and hopefully a stable outcome, but until that time, I am resting and looking daily to the future.

My landlord somewhat forced my hand this week, new power cables and dedicated 15A lines for welder and mill. So in being in the workshop I had to find something to do, apart from the obligatory tidy up, and yes. It’s a mess.

I decided to start finding the front end, the Armstrong dampers, fully cleaned and soda blasted, boy were they stinky inside. Drilled and tapped to take metric stainless bolts, all drill and fill bolts zinc phas coating with new fibre washers, assembled and noted to add oil when ready.
Nice and easy and for me a bit of a milestone.
I’m taking one day at a time at the moment, meds are working and next week starts the investigating at the various Cardio units.
Thanks you kindly to all the
Kind words, sometimes one feels they are writing blogs for the eternal out there, nice to know people do read it.
Plans know are simple, weld final plates in engine bay and suspension areas, paint, wheel arch, bay and underside and assemble, suspension, engine install and start finishing the fab work on the front end.
Update next week, thanks

As the rest looks good, think I will paint the cast arm, just to keep it tidy

Doesn't sound much when you say it quickly but that's a lot of work so take it slow and easy. A good tidy up is always a great motivator, I'll have to try it sometime :D

Been very busy both in the shop and work, funny how when you work freelance you give more about you work when you are PAYE.

Any how, to be installed this weekend a New Floor standing lathe and a new Mill, the last of the Chinese metal has left the shop, even threw a load of tools out.
Lots of work to fit and install, and the new suspension parts are due for pickup, aim in the next few months is dry running gear assembly, fingers crossed.
Hope all yous are well and tinkering away

Little steps at the moment, so started making all the brackets for the engine, the spacers and bushes for the alternator, the gp4 Abarth alternator modified bracket, finished the RS style fuel cap, now to build all the ally work to fuel tank.

Also thrown in a couple of refurb items in the shop, Bridgeport tool rack, painted in Warco colours passinder green and signal yellow, again just small little projects that seem to make all the difference.

A lot of the detailing is taken for Niels van Buren build, he's building a replica gp4 Abarth 124, so anything i miss engine side, its up for grabs.

Got the ok on meds from the specialist, so whilst not 100% im ok for the next year, Porsche is out of the garage and being driven, top down of coarse and moved the moggy to the center of the workshop, a good sign i think.

bench dog made out of scrap, ally, brass and stainless, bit out of my metal bin, time, about a 6 hours in all, result happy, but need to set up milling table better, each day is a learning day, made two small ones for the vices as well, and tools stand in situ

RS FUEL cap, this took 3 attempts to braze unsure why, any help would be grateful, tried gas, lead and finally silver solder with the oxy,

going to let the paint cure, then will gently rub and distress the paint, exposing the brass underneath, then i will lacquer again, want that preserved used look

Quiet day, which is also good, most people on the park were away, so opened the doors and machined in peace, and me making he noise!
awaiting the ally tube for my fuel system, i started to make the fuel cell flange, the base of the cup, to hold the cap and large filler tube, need to bend the 80mm dia fuel tube once received it. Oh and had a delivery of T6 6061 billet, got loads for little money, very pleased to score that load.
