Hot Engine Starting Problem - 1956 Series11
I’m having an issue with starting my 1956 Series 11 (803cc) when the engine is warm. She will start immediately first thing in morning when car is cold. If I take a journey maybe 10+ miles and shut down the engine for maybe 5 minutes and then try to restart she will not start. I need to leave it for maybe 15 to 20 minutes before I can get her to restart. I have tried various fixes include changing the coil, points and spark plugs which have made no difference. Any advice or suggestions would be most welcome.

Check that the choke is not sticking open.

You may be experiencing fuel vaporization in the carb and fuel pump which is a common problem with Minors.
If it is fuel vaporization you can install a Grumpys fuel pipe and carb shield to overcome the problem. Available from ESM

Whilst it says suitable for HS2 carbs it can be adapted to suit the 'H' type carb.
