Replacing the head lining in my traveller 1961

Post by deleted_user2 »

Hello,
I'm a recent Morris Traveller owner, loving it.!
I'm trying to find out some tips on how to remove and replace the above head lining.
As advised by my daughter, iv tried to Google it but with no success.
I'm hoping someone can direct me to a site that shows how to do it.

Hi. I replaced mine a long time ago. Start at the back for the rear pieces. Note how they are attached to the roof struts. Once that is off undo the wire that runs from the front parcel shelf through the window pillar. Tie a long length of strong string to the end to help you pull it back when you replace the headlining. Use a flat piece of steel and by trial and error bend it to fit under the top of the windscreen rail and hook under the spring loaded clip that holds the headlining in place. This is a tricky operation and may require several attempts.
This is a brief description from memory. It really is not a difficult job if you take your time and remove any wrinkles. Good luck.
