Late production line photos

Post by BNStudios1 »

Does anyone have any photographs of the production line at Cowley towards the end of the Minor's production around 1968 onwards after BMC became BLMC? I can't seem to find anything other than very early photographs online and a couple of aerial shots from the 70's... It's 50 years this April 10th since my car was built at Cowley so I want to drive it to where the production line site was in Oxford and it would be nice to see what the site was like 50 years ago!

If anyone could also let me know which of the three former sites at Cowley (on the map) the Minors were built on that would be nice to know too! Image

The book ‘Making Cars at Cowley’ by Bardsley and Laing is probably the best record of Morris production I’ve seen, but as it covers nearly a century there is not too much detail on each phase.

Morris seem to have mostly photographed their innovations and developments and I always get the impression that by the late sixties they were losing interest in the Minor, which might account for the dearth of pictures.
