Mobile mechanics

Post by NickTaylor »

I have an old 1962 Morris Minor that has been standing un-used for a couple of years and needs a complete mechanical overhaul with a view to getting it running and usable again.

Bodywork is fine, but because I am not able to move it I am looking for a local(ish) mechanic to Oxford who could undertake a service on location.

My aim is to get the car in a position where it can be MOT'ed and insured for perhaps one last Summer of fun.

Can anybody help or advise? Costs and availability would be appreciated.

Why not do it yourself? Servicing a Minor is dead easy with some basic tools which should cost you less than a mechanic would charge for doing just one hour's work. A service kit costs about £14 plus postage and you can buy a used Haynes manual for a few quid on E-Bay.
because I am not able to move it
Do you mean the brakes are stuck on? Or does the engine not run?
