Gearbox Stady Cable

Hi

My friends , 1955 Morris Minor series ii had stady cable ? And where ? Cant found , may be any bracket lost . Dont know any Please help.

This car - Not 1948 MM car ,and not 1000 - Rear light - have black color ring befor chorme part - plastic red lens - think you can identify the car .

The engine steady was not factory fitted until / from car No: 264013.
It could be retro fitted - see BMC wksp manual section AA.36 for details and Fig: AA.28 for fitment details.
If your car has the engine steady cable it can be found between the rear of the gearbox main casing and the gearbox mount cross member.
It was fitted to stop the engine moving forward under hard braking and hitting the radiator.

The gearbox in the picture is at least a 1098cc unit with the remote gearlever housing extension.
The Morris Minor Ser 2 MM gearbox mount fitted to the gearbox cross member is different.
See wksp man exploded parts list section FF illustration FF.6 for details.
