Alternator wiring

Hi, My regulator has just packed up, and whilst my car is all ready changed to neg earth I think it's a good time to fit an aleternator. Two things, is there a particular model we use for the minors, and can you buy any brackets required? And looking at the wiring diagrams on here for an alternator, what do I do with the A & A1 wires? Bearing in mind I've now got a burnt out regulator! Thanks all

If you are into originality, you can now get a lucas-shaped regulator which looks like a dynamo.
