Had to give the local car show a miss today as I just came off night shift so decided to introduce the car to his new switch panel.
Now bearing in mind that Jethro resents the introduction of any component that was made after 1970 I considered it safe to power all his accessories - Flashing indicators, Screen washers, Parking light, Searchlight, Fog lamps and Klaxon - from a custom built panel with original Lucas switches.
The indicators were my main concern as I needed to power them from a Lucas flasher can through an original 1954 SD84 trafficator switch but I was pleasantly surprised when I fitted the power out lead from the can to the input post on the switch and the leads for the indicator lamps to each side input on the SD84. Battery on and voila! the indicators worked perfectly with the red warning light on the SD84 flashing in time!
Having reached this stage without being burnt, lacerated or punctured,, and with all the skin still on my hands, the rest will be plain sailing as the other items are merely simple on off pull switches.....I hope!
