Indicator stalk update flasher unit.
Hello how does the plastic bit on the end of the indicator come apart? Mines broken and my spare is missing the wires so I want to swap them over. Tho im tempted to fit a landy or mini indicator switch as theyre only £20. Thanks Steve

Re: Indicator stalk wiring stripping.
I am not sure it does come apart at that end. It seems to be moulded on. I would be tempted to take it apart at the other end, but if you are replacing it with a mini one..... That said replacements are expensive so worth tinkering unless anyone on the forum has them at sensible prices.

Noticed remains of an old wire. Just soldered to it. Hopefully it'll work. Thanks

That's a big beast of a soldering iron. Mine is tiny compared to that ! Not of course that size matters!!!!

Re: Indicator stalk update flasher unit.
The indicator stalk is in and is working but the tell tale light dosent work with the new flasher unit but the indicators flash normally. When I refit the old flasher unit the tell tale flashes but the the units really worn and dosent flash properly. Any ideas? I was given the new flasher unit with some bits i bought looks the same as the old but its probably a Chinese copy.
Thanks again Steve

Re: Indicator stalk update flasher unit.
There seem to be endless tales of replacement flasher units which don't work properly
. I've had a couple myself and eventually got an old secondhand one which works perfectly - another case of poor quality new parts......

Ahh the same with most things then. I wonder if the one in the fiesta will fit or just work. Tho hopefully if I keep trying the old one it will sort it self out.

I got the old one working. Left it flashing left was working perfectly pretty quickly. Then right whilst tapping it a little got it working that way. I don't understand how it was working one way and not the other. Hopefully it's sorted now anyway. Might strip the new one and see if I can fix it as a spare.

There is nothing silly about any of the posts, We all have common issues and need the collective wisdom of the bloggers to solve them. Anyway, they are endlessly entertaining and remind us that we are not alone in trying to keep these wonderful cars going. Keep them coming!
