Exhaust note
I don't know that I have ever heard a sidevalve Minor being driven. Do they have the famous Minor exhaust note, that for me is somewhere between a raspberry and a trombone? I don't think it's engine dependent, as my Traveller sounds like a cross between an MG Metro and an MG Midget. It doesn't have a stock Minor exhaust.

Our standard MM has the Phart but the modded MM and our 1098 don't. Not sure why.

Re: Exhaust note
How has the MM been modified? I know Aquaplane used to do heads for Ford SV, where the combustion chambers were tapered, to reduce the end gas and I know Alta did OHV heads for MMs (Not forgetting Nuffield's own OHV head, which was going to be fitted until the BMC merge came along).RobThomas wrote:Our standard MM has the Phart but the modded MM and our 1098 don't. Re: Exhaust note
Looks a nice piece of kit; has it been on a rolling road and if so, what power does it give? Are twin SU's ever fitted nowadays or is the MG Metro principle adopted? I believe MM transmission had quite a bit in reserve?
