Series MM Roof Lining Boards
I have just made some new roof lining boards for my 49 MM. When I fit them does the centre section go in first and the side sections overlap, or does the side sections go in first and the centre section overlap them. It seems to work both ways but I would like to keep the car as original as possible.

Re: Series MM Roof Lining Boards
Hi
I have made up some new headlining boards from templates, side pieces fit in fine but having great difficulty with the centre section!! does anyone know the correct way to fit this section please? I have slotted the front in but the board seems to long, shortened it to get it in but once in to short!!
Length I have is 1595mm overall with rear shaped to contour of rear window & the front a shaped to go into slot above screen, image attached
Help please>

Re: Series MM Roof Lining Boards
The center board has to be pushed up to take the shape of the roof curve at the back of car. It takes some force to get the edge of the board above the rear window. I used my shoulders to push it up.
Re: Series MM Roof Lining Boards
Thanks for that, I have the board propped tight to the roof panel, still seems long! Don’t suppose you know the length of the board you fitted?
Re: Series MM Roof Lining Boards
I will try to measure it next week. Am heading out for the weekend today.

Thanks very much, have a great weekend!
Re: Series MM Roof Lining Boards
Hi, did you manage to measure the centre roof panel please?
Kind regards John

Re: Series MM Roof Lining Boards
John,
Totally forgot, been so busy. Seems to be approximately 58 1/2 inches in the center. Hope this helps. Like I said you really have to put a lot of force on it to push it up around the curve.
Good Luck,
Doug
