Lincoln Battery
I have been told today that a Lincoln Battery is the only one on the market for my 1952 Morris Minor. The cost is £152 ouch. Any alternatives would be appreciated.

Re: Lincoln Battery
Hi,
When renewing I shop around for the best price and then fit the biggest battery that will fit in the tray and still enable me to fit the retaining bar. Black in colour looks best of course.
It depends what you are looking for, I'm quite happy with a modern battery that gives a visual nod in the direction of the original look, absolute originality may cost you more.
Perhaps someone on here will provide you with a precise recommendation.
I've attached some links below.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Lincoln Battery
So I guess we are saying that Lincolns look the part but aren't necessary? Especially at that price.

Re: Lincoln Battery
I agree on the 038, fine for MM or series 11. These old type batteries look great but in reality wont last any longer or perform any better than the cheaper one! I have a Halfords one fitted with the sticker removed and a nice old fashioned Lucas sticker in its place for £1.99

Re: Lincoln Battery
Many thanks for all your advice. i decided to go with the Lincoln and managed to get it for £137. I feel i will be looking for another battery soon for my second car and the Halfords option will be purchased.

Wow, a Morris minor owner who hasn't got short arms and long pockets!!
Hope it lasts longer than a normal battery!

Re: Lincoln Battery
I have that type of battery on my Morris 8 and you have to be very careful with spanners around it

Re: Lincoln Battery
It's a good idea to disconnect the battery when the car isn't in use for a while to obviate the risk of fire and battery drain.
