I have started putting our 69 saloon back together and remembered I destroyed the parcel shelf bolts getting them out , does anyone know what thread they are?

It part of the body so they will be BSF, so either 1/4-26 or 5/16-22. I think they are 5/16.

I will measure the inner thread diameter and compare to bsf threads, they look bigger than 1/4" so as you say 5/16 looks favourite.

The thread for the parcel shelf bolt where it fits to the body bracket is 1/4" BSF.
The threaded hole looks bigger than it actually is because the 1/4" BSF nut is captive in a cage behind the parcel shelf bracket and so the hole in the bracket has to be slightly larger at around 5/16" diameter to accommodate the 1/4" bolt without interference.
