Evening. Quick question.
The o/s half of the centre cross member on my Traveller is looking like it'll need replacing in the next couple of years. I can't weld, so DIY is not an option.
What would I expect to pay to have a competant welder do this job, assuming I supplied the replacement crossmember & no other remedial work on the floor pan or sills is necessary?
Cheers Neil

Re: Cross member replacement
There is a lot more work to be done before and after welding … removal of the offending part will show if any other work is required and clean up of the area to shiny metal are laborious tasks you could possibly do yourself, and after welding, protection of the area with paint and underseal you could also do. This means you need a man with a welder for 15 minutes, so …. 25 quid …. Or a twelve pack if I was any closer. I think you would be looking at around 200 quid for somebody to do the whole job!
