Hi All,
In fitting the front seats back into my Traveller, we have placed the drivers seat as far back as possible given that my son will be driving the car and he's 6' 1".
This has left 'spare' holes in the floor, being the alternative fixing points and about as sophisticated as seat adjustment can be on a Minor. My question is, how have other owners blocked off these holes to prevent ingress of water/road dirt? I don't want to use filler, which might permanently stop up the holes, so was wondering if a set of bolts cut off to the depth of the captive nuts would do the job if screwed in from underneath the car. They could then perhaps have a coat of paint and be finished off with a spot of Waxoyl.
Any thoughts?

Hi You need
Metal Plate-Fits Under Front Seat Clamp Code:TRM807
£1.25 (ex. VAT)
£1.50 (inc. VAT)
http://www.morrisminorspares.com/body-i ... mp-p828748
These are from ESM but others should have them, you place them under the seat tube so they cover the unused holes. I also put some silicon in holes to stop water coming in.

Thanks Andy. Actually simpler than what I was proposing.

Why not just put some greased bolts in there?

Because the head of the bolt in the "spare" hole would be in the way of the seat frameNourish wrote:Why not just put some greased bolts in there?

Best to do what the factory did - use the plate which is still available as above, and a bit of putty/sealant in the spare holes.

Not if you put them in from underneathBecause the head of the bolt in the "spare" hole would be in the way of the seat frame

Re: Front seat fixing: spare holes in floor
The driver's seat has adjustment in addition to the mounting position in the floor - have you used that as well?
I have used some short 5/16" BSF screws to fill the unused holes from underneath.
