Hiya, had to take timing cover off today to change rubber seal, which way on does the oil thrower go? Haynes manual says concave side forward but unsure what they mean by forward!!! (originally i had it facing away from engine)

You had on correctly, Haynes speak means towards the front of the car.Haynes manual says concave side forward but unsure what they mean by forward!!! (originally i had it facing away from engine)

that ones a classic. took me back a few years. glad to see its still around. 
when refitting the timming cover, ensure the pully wheel is inserted in the oil seal when fitting the cover. fit the cover and push on the wheel at the same time. this will ensure that the pully wheel is central in the timming cover oil seal.
