Brake hoses

Post by Pip the unready »

Just a word on brake hoses. My dads m.g. TD (Morris related)suffered from binding rear brakes, after several attempts at adjustment I finally changed the rear hose from the body to the axle. Result,no more hot drums and a smoother pedal. On cutting the old one in half I couldn't imagine how fluid could ever get through it.pressure from the brake line applied the brakes but a grungy mass of decaying rubber prevented it's return.on the outside the hose was fine. A hose swap on my van is my next job. Pip.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the insight. You aren't the first, and won't be the last, to get caught by this particular issue, but a reminder is always good.
