By-pass blanking plug / adapter

Post by philthehill »

I have just replaced the bypass hose adapter in an 'A' Series head with a blanking plug.
The blanking plug available from Mini Sport has the correct thread 5/8" x 16 TPI Unified Special (UNS) they are down to the last few blanking plugs so if you intend to blank the by-pass hose adapter get in quick now.

Mini Sport by-pass hose adapter is also the correct thread.

Some of the blanking plugs and adapters available from other sources are 5/8" UNF and are not suitable for this application.

Well, that has answered a question I first asked myself back in 1989. :D

Rob
Mini Sport are the only source of correctly threaded adapters and blanking plugs I have found up to the present time and their stock level is very low.
If anyone knows of another source of correctly threaded adapters and blanking plugs please post details on here.
Phil

Note:- This is the same thread as the starter dog/set screw.

Either the viewing numbers are wrong or there is a lot of interest in the subject as it was only posted this morning and the viewing has already passed 15300 :D 8)

Probably the former, it's the same thing with the number of posts accredited to us, I feel they are vastly exaggerated :D
