rim width

Post by BLOWNMM »

Hi Guys
I was of the belief that the standard wheel width for saloons and tourers was 3 inch. Is this correct and if so can anybody provide documentation which positively proves this.
Bob
Further to my above question what were the identification marks on the rims on saloon and tourer cars and all the LCV's. produced.

A tape measure across the well of a rim is pretty accurate proof. I think offhand though that they are 3.5" though I would have to check when I have my hands on one.
