WHEELS SUITABLE FOR CAR??

Post by ExMODtraveller »

Hi I was just wondering if a set of minilites 101mm PCD, 175/70 R13 would be suitable for my Traveller? Thanks.

The minor PCD is an imperial size, rather than metric.

Hi les, how's the work going on your cars? I'm the guy with the green Traveller you took pictures of if you're wondering haha. I've been after a nice set of wheels for ages.

4 inch PCD equates to 101.6mm so if they are 101.6 rather than 100mm or 98mm (or any other oddball figure) then they MAY fit. Problem then is the size of the holes for the studs (Minor are small, Viva are bigger, MGB bigger still) and the angle of the seat in the wheel (Minor is 66 degrees, MGB is 60 degrees) and then you need to be sure that the wheels aren't designed for a front wheel drive car since they would be spaced out differently from the drum face (offset). Then there is the size of the tyre against the width of the wheel rim, the tyres don't touch the steering arm or brake pipes....etc.

Best to see them on a car or try them before you buy. :D

Hi, you've got me thinking now! I don't think it was me, unless my memory has gone. However I run a van which is now finished after a good few years of restoration, won't be going there again any time soon. Just nice little jobs and a mod here and there from now on maybe! Good luck with wheels!

That tyre size suggests to me they are mini wheels and are in fact 4" pcd.

They would be fitted to every late mini...

They would need to be indeed 4" PCD EXACTLY - which is 101.6mm You need to measure this very accurately - 100 mm wheels will NOT do, and I'm not aware of any 101mm wheels anyway. Mini wheels are 13" diameter and have too great an inset to be much use on a Minor. I think we have been over this before?
