Daresbury Laboratories

Post by panky »

Unusual venue but what a cracking day with literally thousands of visitors through the gate :D
It was their open day and my local club was asked to put on a display.

I was last to arrive so got my own row

Absolutley fascinating day, had an in-depth discussion with a magnet designer who was building a prototype array for the LHC at CERN - he looked about twelve :o

Inside the 'Syncatron' building
This is ALICE Accelerators and Lasers In Combined Experiments

There was so much to see and plenty of sciencey things for the kids to do - brilliant day :D

Nice report Panky from your rally day at Daresbury.

What club are you associated with ? A branch of Morris Minor or other.

I am in Cheshire with SCMMOC ( South Cheshire )

Thanks pmg. I'm with Northwest Casual Classics, based in Great Sankey near Warrington. We are what I would describe as an eclectic mix of cars ranging from a 1920's Morris Cowley and Austin 7, a 1930's Austin Sixteen and spanning the decades right up to a virtually new Morgan . There's a few Minors in there too :)
