Limeflower Traveller - Getting Zippy Back On The Road.
Way back in 1989 for my 17th birthday my parents bought me my first car, a Limeflower 1971 Morris Minor Traveller.
I stuck the L Plates on and I learned to drive in my new old car.
I called him Zippy!!
Two years later, I took the car off the road for renovation. Family circumstances forced the partly completed project in to storage.
So another 25yrs later my lovely hubby has rescued "Zippy" and is putting him back together ready for the Summer ❤

Hi..
Well I'm picking this up 25yrs after my Dad, a real classic car enthusiast, had 90% completed the project. He'd restored and replaced wood and panels, new engine and gear box. Basically, I have a near complete shell with the interior to assemble. We put back doors on last week. A few daily hours, some cleaning, some putchases... Aim is back on the road for August
Wow your project looks a busy one too... Keep updating the progress

Great that you kept your first car all these years! For most of us, our first cars are long gone to the great scrapyard.......
Your Traveller is looking brilliant . Keep up the good work and once it's finished, ENJOY IT!

Hi Johnny
Yes - i think so haha - am a bit dull with techy stuff. But yes, the key goes in to the left of steering wheel .... were I consider a 'normal' ignition to be
Thank you hoping to be roadworthy by August

wow, this is a car with a very personal history for you Trina, when Zippie's on the road again, with you behind the wheel, everyone you drive passed will see you grinning from ear to ear.
smile, you never know, you might be winning.

Thank you
Yes, I am so fortunate to still have my first car ... Even though he's been a Sleeping Beauty for 25yrs!!
Soon to be a happy Traveller and a very happy me
I really can't wait to get back behind the wheel

Thanks, yes, been garaged well whilst awaiting final restoration completion. Wasn't quite so smart as a battered 18 year old well used car when I was given it.
A bit more tlc and an interior, we'll be good to go
I like the colour too, not everyone is a fan haha
I'll share some more photos when there's been a bit more progress
