goog is Cornish for good
I have filled many a car with petrol from pumps like those and when the power was down used the crank handle to turn the pump through the flaps on the front and that was not easy especially when filling a large tank with say 20 gallons.
The filler pipes swung out over the pavement - not many of those left now.
Happy days
I visited the petrol pumps pictured below over 40 years ago. On my visit last summer (2015 photo below) nothing much had changed over all those years but the proprietor had only recently given up selling petrol as the tanks and dispensers did not comply with the current requirements.
He showed me around his workshop which was a real time warp.
