I carried out a compression test today on the car and recorded 150psi on all 4 cylinders. is this good?

car was running fine beforehand, but I wanted to check before a long trip next weekend.

Seems to me that the the distributor was fitted one tooth out...... and the end of the rotor was just close enough for the spark to jump to the HT collector in the cap or to jump to the wrong one. Unusual for just one cylinder. Was it just one, btw?

I would have suspected the dwell angle to be wrong for one of the distributor cam lobes, but if it is now fixed you can investigate the old parts at your leisure.
