MMOC CLUB CAR - HELP REQUIRED

Post by Matt Tomkins »

Hi all,
As some of you know, the MMOC project car, a 1949 lowlight series MM, is now at the Practical Classics workshop for the magazine to help the club in facilitating its restoration.
It would be absolutely fantastic to have as many members involved in the project as possible.
The first day that we will be pressing on with the project in earnest is the photoshoot day THIS COMING WEDNESDAY (20th April) and it would be great to have as many members on hand for the photos as possible. the plan for that day will be getting the door bottom replaced, suspension worked on and wings fitting correctly in preparation for the car being sent for paint. there will be many future opportunities to be working on the project and I thoroughly look forward to getting stuck in.
If you would like to help, whatever your skill level (what better place to learn!) let me know you name and date of birth in advance and come along to the workshop in Barnack, Peterborough (PE9) on wednesday to get your face in the magazine and be a part of this historic club project.
Please email me on matt.tomkins@practicalclassics.co.uk for more details and to be added to the list of helpers

Is it only open to young members or can older members with 40 years experience particularly on Series MMs apply?

Indeed -I was wondering why DOB was required....... :o  Sadly I'm not in a position to be able to help - but if I was - I would be furious to be 'excluded' due to being too young - or too old ! Surely no place for this sort of discrimination in the MMOC Club?

No discrimination either way at all, BMC.
DOB is required for the company's public liability insurance to allow people into our workshop and the mention of young members, as i told Mick above, was simply an error from when i copied the tect from my post on the young members forum as, indeed, it would be nice to see many young members involved; as it would to see older members. The context in which the 'young members' name was used in the text was from the young members page, hence its correction to members. it is an mmoc project and it would be great for as many club members as possibly to get involved.
tomorrow we have a retired paint sprayer, a younger member who recently took his minor on the mongal rally and the hamiltons.
