Interior hood fasteners to stop hood roof slapping
Hi. I have a 1961 Minor Convertible with a beautiful maroon mohair hood. Problem is that when it is up the top of the hood slaps loudly in the slipstream. I think it needs fasteners attached to the inside of the hood to attach it to the supporting stringer bars. Anybody got any idea of either how to do it myself or who, in the Gloucestershire area, might be able to come up with a solution?

Re: Interior hood fasteners to stop hood roof slapping
You might find that the hood has become slack over the years since it was fitted and needs re stretching. You can't really fit fasteners to hold it down but how about some sort of padding such as pipe lagging or some sticky backed rubbers on the hood frame - I've seen both of those done.
Unfortunately, the hood flapping is not an unusual thing to happen and is something you have to live with.

Thanks Laurie. Actually the hood is nearly new. But I might try those sticky-back rubbers.
Cheers
