Yes it's similar - but the Manual really does tell you how to do it. There's no point(!) going over it again!.

Back in the 70's I ground off the remains of the contacts and silver soldered the points removed from a set of distributor points.
I was really tight then!
They are still working fine though.

took it off this morning, and managed to replace the points, out of 10 I would say it was a 4 in difficulty. tested and its sounding good. well worth the 3hours it took to do it.
